Keeta set to launch in Brazil and take on iFood
Keeta, a Chinese food delivery platform, has officially confirmed its launch date in Brazil for October 30. The company will begin with a pilot project in the coastal cities of Santos and São Vicente, located in São Paulo state.
According to the official announcement, deliveries and in-app orders will start in these two cities before expanding to other regions. The company aims to reach São Paulo’s capital by the end of 2025, followed by other major cities across the country.
Expansion and investment plans
Keeta is owned by Meituan, the world’s largest food delivery company by order volume. Launched in Hong Kong in 2023, the platform is already available in markets such as Saudi Arabia.
The company confirmed its entry into Brazil after a trade agreement between China and Brazil, which includes R$ 27 billion (USD 5.3 billion) in Chinese investments. Of this total, R$ 5.6 billion will be invested over five years to establish and expand Keeta’s infrastructure in Brazil.
Why start in coastal São Paulo?
Santos and São Vicente were chosen for their high density of small and medium-sized restaurants offering delivery, aligning with Keeta’s strategy of building local partnerships.
Before its official debut, Keeta has already:
- Registered over 700 restaurants;
- Trained more than 2,000 delivery partners;
- Onboarded 1,000 account managers;
- Confirmed partnerships with Sodiê Doces, The Coffee, and Mania de Churrasco.
Aggressive promotions and user support
The company plans an aggressive user acquisition campaign, offering up to 60% off first orders and R$ 100 in discount coupons for new customers.
Keeta will also provide 24/7 customer support for users with questions or delivery issues.
The app and driver tools are already listed on the Google Play Store for early registration.
Rising competition in Brazil’s delivery market
With Keeta’s arrival, iFood gains a strong new competitor. Another contender is 99Food, from the Brazilian-born company 99, which returned to the delivery sector in 2025.
Keeta’s entry is expected to intensify competition in Brazil’s booming delivery market, giving consumers more options and restaurants new growth opportunities.
